This qualification reflects the roles of community services, case management and social housing workers involved in the managing, co-ordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities.
At this level, workers have specialized skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management; program coordination or the development of new business opportunities.

On completion of this qualiﬁcation, you can gain admission in CHC62015 Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management, Bachelor of Health and Community Services, Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Social Sciences or a range of other options.
Typical program duration: The program duration is typically 12 months. Students should also set aside 6 hours per week for self study time.
Students can choose to study online or through Real-time Virtual Classroom environment. Learners will be assessed through questioning, projects, case scenarios, research, and observation in the workplace. Practical work placement of 120 hours forms part of the course.

Completing placement is compulsory, and you will be expected to manage family and work commitments in order to complete your shifts. You are required to complete 100 hours of placement to satisfy this component of your qualiﬁcation. Usual practical placement hours are 7am-3pm in residential facilities, and usually 9am-4pm in a Planned Activity Group (PAG) setting. You may be required to have some afternoon and evening shifts.
