CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services (Case Management)

About the qualification

This qualification reflects the roles of community services, case management and social housing workers involved in the managing, co-ordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities.

At this level, workers have specialized skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management; program coordination or the development of new business opportunities.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Prospective students are must be atleast 18 years of age
  • To assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs, Angel Institute will conduct a Pre-Training Review
  • Required to complete the Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment, administered by and to the satisfaction of Angel Institute

On completion of this qualification, you can gain admission in CHC62015 Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management, Bachelor of Health and Community Services, Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Social Sciences or a range of other options.

COURSE DURATION

Typical program duration: 78 weeks. Classes are held for 20hrs per week. 5 hours a week should be set aside for self-study. There are 16 units of competency to complete, with electives chosen to improve your employability skills in the sector

DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT

CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services (Case Management) is delivered either face to face (class based). Learners will be assessed through questioning, projects, case scenarios, research, and observation in the workplace. Practical work placement of 120 hours forms part of the course.

Angel Institute of Education would not accept payment of more than $1500 from each individual student prior to the commencement or in advance at any given time.

PRACTICAL WORKPLACEMENT

Completing placement is compulsory, and you will be expected to manage family and work commitments in order to complete your shifts. You are required to complete 120 hours of placement to satisfy this component of your qualification. It is your responsibility as the student to find and secure a suitable work placement for the required hours. Usual practical placement hours are 7am-3pm in residential facilities, and usually 9am-4pm in a Planned Activity Group (PAG) setting. You may be required to have some afternoon and evening shifts.
