This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.
Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

On completion of this qualiﬁcation, you can gain admission in CHC53015 Diploma of Community Services.
Typical program duration: 50 weeks. Classes are held for 20hrs per week. 5 hours a week should be set aside for self-study. There are 18 units of competency to complete, with electives chosen to improve your employability skills in the sector
CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support is delivered either face to face (class based). Learners will be assessed through questioning, projects, case scenarios, research, and observation in the workplace. Practical work placement of 120 hours forms part of the course.

Completing placement is compulsory, and you will be expected to manage family and work commitments in order to complete your shifts. You are required to complete 120 hours of placement to satisfy this component of your qualiﬁcation. It is your responsibility as the student to ﬁnd and secure a suitable work placement for the required hours. Usual practical placement hours are 7am-3pm in residential facilities. You may be required to have some afternoon and evening shifts.
