CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support

About the qualification

This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.

Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters.

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.


  • Prospective students are must be atleast 18 years of age
  • To assist prospective students to determine whether a course is suitable and appropriate for the individual needs, Angel Institute will conduct a Pre-Training Review
  • Required to complete the Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment, administered by and to the satisfaction of Angel Institute


This qualification may lead to employment in a range of roles including:

  • personal caregiver/ worker
  • care supervisor
  • residential care worker
  • community program coordinator

On completion of this qualification, you can gain admission in CHC53015 Diploma of Community Services.


Typical program duration: 50 weeks. Students should also set aside 5 hours per week for self study


CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support is delivered face to face (class based) or real time virtual classroom. Learners will be assessed through questioning, projects, case scenarios, research, and observation in the workplace. Practical work placement of 120 hours forms part of the course.

Angel Institute of Education would not accept payment of more than $1500 from each individual student prior to the commencement or in advance at any given time.

Completing placement is compulsory, and you will be expected to manage family and work commitments in order to complete your shifts. You are required to complete 120 hours of placement to satisfy this component of your qualification.Usual practical placement hours are 7am-3pm in residential facilities. You may be required to have some afternoon and evening shifts.
